Pub Talk

He sat right next to me. Seemed to be pissed off and all he wanted was a strong drink. In a twinkle the barman served a long and no-rocks-scotch.
Usually barmen ask ordinary things just to assure that the client is not a maniac or dangerous for other customers, this is important for the business. But this guy started slowly and firmly telling latest events, showing no harm intention. Hard to understand the words at the very first moment, but after few minutes I could comprehend quite something.

"It supposed to be simple." Said the man.

The barman assented.

"We've talked and was agreed that each one of us would live according to a whole new life. The commitment was mutual and there would be huge efforts to assure its fulfilment."

The barman knew that one of the most important lessons learned as working in a Pub is to listen more than talk. As a shrinker, they were there to hear people complaining not to debate democratically. Drinking, paying and leaving. The difference is that alcohol takes play as the shrinker's advices.

"We were helping each other. But it became impossible since no achievements were really happening. We got stuck and hope was gone. Decisions had to made...then, no more of our personal borders should be crossed."

The conversation faded out and appeared to be ended. But he continued.

"I was rude but could be understood and forgiven. Why now I can't just forget, or forgive, what ever, everything and move on? I mean, if is there a reason for this but the fortune, I really would like to know.

"Your face shows me that you've seen something like that. It's a test, isn't it?

The barman smiled acquiescing with confidence, since he knew the only role he was there to play was "the listener who guides confuse man's thoughts to a calm conclusion, in an alcohol manner" and it was done working perfectly. Experience does matter.

By the way, he helped me before.
